Stop the Flawed
Immigration Bill
Our nation’s immigration policy is broken.
The number of undocumented and illegal
immigrants in the United States is estimated
to exceed 11.5 million, and that number is
growing rapidly every day.
The U.S. Congress is attempting to address
this issue by considering a deeply flawed
immigration bill that will only make the
exploitation of undocumented workers even
worst. Additionally, this legislation
threatens to severely undermine the wages
and working conditions of millions of hard
working Americans.
This bill poses an extreme danger to the
future of every hard working middle class
American family. We urge you to contact
your Senators about your concerns
immediately through the toll free
Capitol switchboard number at
1-800-828-8498. We have also provided a
link where you can
contact your Senators online. Also
included are some
talking points regarding our concerns on
this issue of vital importance.

Employee Free Choice Act
The nation's
labor laws have failed the American people.
Anti-worker employers have successfully
rigged the NLRB system of elections to make
them anything but democratic. 23,000
workers a year are fired for trying to form
a union. The penalty for firing a worker
who tries to organize is nothing more than
backpay for just the time that worker was
unemployed. Instead of a punishment, it has
become a business decision for employers who
want to deny their employees the freedom to
bargain for better wages and benefits.
Studies have
shown that union members earn over 20
percent more than their non-union
counterparts an are more likely to have
better retirement and health benefits. For
this reason, over 60 million non-union
American workers have responded that they
would like to form a union - if they could.
The
Employee Free Choice Act would go a long
way towards fixing this broken down system
by reforming the nation’s basic labor laws.
It would require employers to recognize a
union after a majority of workers sign cards
authorizing union representation. It would
provide mediation and arbitration for
first-contract disputes and establish
stronger penalties for violation of the
rights of workers seeking to form unions or
negotiate first contracts. And it would
bring balance to the field of labor
management relations where anti-worker
employers are allowed to trample on the
bargaining rights of millions of American
workers without fear of any consequences.
Support the
Employee Free Choice Act by telling your
family, friends and co-workers about this
important bill.
Send a letter to your Congressperson and
Senators about the Employee Free Choice Act.

importance of the Employee Free Choice Act
to the American middle class.
