Communications Department
Union activists and leaders need accurate information, supporting organizing and collective bargaining efforts and informing union members about developments that affect their rights and well being at the workplace and in their communities.
The Communications Department, which services these groups, also assists members and union leaders in their efforts to speak out on behalf of workers. From websites and newsletters to collective bargaining sessions, the Communications Department uses a variety of methods, materials and technologies to disseminate the SMWIA’s messages clearly and effectively to media sources, trade publications, the general public and other interested organizations.
Our goal is to ensure the members of our International Union speak with solidarity on the issues that matter to them.
