To recognize the diversity of our Union’s members in their jobs and community activities, we are launching the new SMWIA Photo Call to all active and retired members in good standing.
Selected photos will be judged and showcased in the SMWIA Journal, on www.smwia.org and in other print and electronic communications without any compensation for their use.
Photographs must be in a digital format using at least a four megapixel camera with settings set to “fi ne” or the highest quality available. There is no deadline for submission and photos may not be enhanced by computer software. Photos should be un-posed and will be evaluated on appeal, content and photographic skill. If there are employer restrictions on taking photos in the workplace, photos of members doing union-related activities, including community service
projects, are acceptable.
So pick up your cameras and show your pride by taking snapshots of your local’s members at work on the job or in the community. A brief description of the work or the activity involved and the identification of the persons in the photo and the name of the photographer, along with each person’s SMWIA membership number, are required.
