The two buzz words everyone is using these days are Energy and Green so on the week of May 4-8, 2009 NEMI kicked off three new task forces, Energy Audit, Service/Retrofit and GREEN/LEED. The objectives for each task force came from a strategic planning meeting by the NEMIC Trustees and the NEMI Board of Directors back in January of this year. A total of 28 task force members, NEMI, ITI  and SMACNA staff members met and formed a game plan to move these tasks to complete the objectives they were given. The goals are to fast track the development of training for members and contractors in the energy audit markets, provide training for sheet metal workers on Green and LEED and gather all the resources already available for staring in the service market. Keep watch for the results of these new programs later this year.
