SMWIA signatories Ductmate Industries Inc. of Charleroi, Pa., and McQuay International of Minneapolis, Minn., were among firms recently awarded a total of $2.3 billion in new clean energy manufacturing tax credits for 183 clean energy projects in 43 states.
To foster job creation in clean energy manufacturing, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act included a tax credit for investments in manufacturing facilities for clean energy technologies. The Section 48C program provides a 30-percent tax credit for investments in 183 manufacturing facilities for clean energy projects in 43 states. The investment is expected to generate more than 17,000 jobs.
Ductmate International received $274,500 for projects in Tulsa, Okla., and Monongahela, Pa., to expand manufacturing and tooling capabilities for production of energy efficient HVAC ductwork featuring self-sealing fixtures.
McQuay received $2.7 million to re-equip three manufacturing facilities in Missouri, Minnesota, and Virginia. Awardees will receive acceptance agreements fro the Internal Revenue Service by April 16, 2010.
