Last week, President Barack Obama called on Congress to pass Health Care Reform Legislation. While we will continue to fight for the elimination of the tax on employer-provided insurance, the need for health care for all Americans is obvious. But, the need will not be met if we do not push hard at the local level in getting public support behind the effort.

The International Training Institute (ITI) has been awarded nearly $5 million in Energy Training Partnership grants through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) to train approximately 1,200 unemployed or under employed sheet metal workers for energy efficient building construction, retrofitting and manufacturing jobs.

This morning’s release by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the December 2009 employment report showed that the jobs situation continued to worsen at the end of 2009 as 85,000 jobs were lost in December.
